ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Pierre Saint Martin Castellanos is a Mexican filmmaker whose work focuses on the intersection of personal grief and political history through a blend of satire and emotional realism. He made a massive impact with his debut feature, We Shall Not Be Moved, which swept the 2025 Ariel Awards and was selected as Mexico’s official submission for the 2026 Oscars. An alumnus of the Berlinale Talents and Sundance Labs, his storytelling often explores collective memory and the pursuit of justice, particularly regarding the 1968 Tlatelolco massacre.

His work explores the human body, labor, and shifting social structures through a distinctively sensuous visual style.

She gained global recognition for Bad Hair (Pelo Malo, 2013), which won the prestigious Golden Shell at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. Her work frequently uses child protagonists to navigate the intersection of personal desire and systemic oppression.
