The panel includes Terence O’Neill, Head of the MSU Library Digital Scholarship Lab, Judith Walgren, Associate Director of the MSU School of Journalism and Leobardo Vallejo, MSU Political Science major and creator of Puro 956.

Experience the power of immersion offered by virtual reality and 360° video by experiencing Use of Force (VR) & Puro 956: Discovering Narratives From The Rio Grande Valley (360° video) on Thursday afternoon or evening in the MSU Library Digital Scholarship Lab. These two exciting new media experiences will run continuously between 2:30-3:00pm and again from 6:00-7:30pm. The New Media Panel from 2:00-2:30pm (see above) will contextualize and introduce both of these additions to traditional cinema and is highly recommended.
TRIGGER WARNING: Use of Force involves the immersive virtual reality experience of being a witness to the homicide of Anastacio Hernandez Rojas by more than a dozen border agents. Please consider carefully whether you wish to be virtually placed in this situation as some participants may find it disturbing.
